Cinnamon Clove Tea

Traditional preparation. This is not medical advice and nothing here promises a cure. Cinnamon sticks and cloves simmered in water make a warmly spiced cup traditionally enjoyed on cold afternoons.

Traditional preparation. This is not medical advice and nothing here promises a cure.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 tbsp honey, to taste (optional)

Steps

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan.
  2. Add the cinnamon sticks and cloves, reduce the heat and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and strain into two mugs.
  4. Sweeten with honey if you like and serve warm.
Serve with: apple slices or a cinnamon cookie.

A little clove goes a long way: four cloves are enough for two cups, or the spice can overpower the cinnamon.
