Birthday Table
A birthday table that feels joyful for kids and grown-ups alike: bright colors, one cake focal point and decorations that survive the party.
- Pick two bright colors plus white, and use them for balloons, napkins and the cake topper.
- Cover the table with a colorful cloth or a bright runner over a plain cloth for easy cleanup.
- Make the cake the centerpiece: raise it on a stand at the center or the end of the table.
- Use a balloon bunch or a paper garland behind the table, not over the food.
- Set simple, sturdy plates and cups, and skip anything you would mind breaking.
- Give each child a small party hat or favor at their place to mark their seat.
- Keep candles, matches and the lighter in one adult-only spot until cake time.
- Add a banner with the birthday person's name or age on the wall behind the table.
- Leave space at one end of the table for gifts so they do not crowd the food.
- Scatter confetti only on the runner, never on plates, and keep it away from the cake.
