Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs
Sticky, garlicky, burnished thighs with a honey-soy glaze that comes together in one pan in about half an hour.
Ingredients
- 8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 2 lb)
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
Steps
- Season the thighs with salt and pepper.
- Sear in olive oil over medium-high heat, 5-6 minutes per side, until deep golden. Remove to a plate.
- Whisk the honey, soy sauce, garlic, rice vinegar and ginger.
- Pour the sauce into the pan and simmer 1 minute, scraping up the browned bits.
- Return the chicken and simmer 8-10 minutes, turning once, until the sauce is thick and glossy and the chicken reads 165°F.
- Scatter with sesame seeds and green onions and serve.
Serve with: steamed rice and roasted broccoli.
Let the glaze bubble until it coats a spoon — it thickens fast at the end, so watch it closely.
